Chelsea striker Lukaku agrees to join Everton on loan
The Belgian is headed for Merseyside on Monday night to sign the papers and complete the temporary transfer.
Everton had made their move to capture Lukaku after Chelsea failed to agree a loan deal with Arsenal for Demba Ba following extensive talks on deadline day.
But West Brom made their move for the big striker and were hopeful that his successful association with Jose Mourinho's former No.2, Steve Clarke, last season could prove decisive.
However, Everton have now been given the green light to take Lukaku to Goodison Park. Manager Roberto Martinez has been keen to add more firepower to his attack after giving the green light for Victor Anichebe to join the Baggies on loan.
Lukaku has not started any of Chelsea's four matches this season despite an extremely successful loan spell at West Brom in 2012-13.
He has slipped even further down Mourinho’s pecking order following the signing of Samuel Eto'o and, with Fernando Torres still at the club and Ba set to stay, was deemed surplus to requirements.
