Schalke stars Howedes and Kunterlaar would welcome Holtby arrival
Schalke forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and defender Benedikt Howedes believe Lewis Holtby would be a useful addition to their side if he to return this January.
"Holtby would help us," Huntelaar said in BILD.
"Lewis has quality and Schalke can use him very well. He can play in midfield at almost all positions - in the offensive and the defensive."
Schalke captain and right back Howedes added: "He is a good player, if it fits for both clubs, it would help us in any case."
Meanwhile, Holtby's agent Marcus Noack hinted that a move back to Germany would be favourable following a successful first spell at the club for the 23-year-old.
"Lewis has felt very well at Schalke," Noack said.
"I am struggling to find a good solution for Lewis so he is happy again. The important thing is for him to play."
Holtby has made 21 appearances for Spurs this season and 12 of them have come in the Premier League.
