Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis: Arsenal are in talks with transfer targets and will spend this summer
On Wednesday night, during the Arsenal supporters' question and answer session, CEO Ivan Gazidis was asked some questions about summer transfers and he said that there are movements behind the scenes to get deals done.
He quotes, "Transfers are obviously important and we are deep in conversations already. I am confident we will add what we need this summer," he said. "The manager is not scared to spend, has the experience, but as always will have to juggle a set budget. "We are all really pleased with securing Champions League qualification again. Last season was a great experience for players to win the FA Cup and now we want more."
He added: "Arsene is impossible to replace. He has given us the footballing philosophy we have now. "Arsene's legacy is based on him wanting to take Arsenal to the next level, and everything he did and still does is for the future of the club."
Arsenal have to find a new right back as Sagna is yet to commit to the club; a goalkeeper who will replace Fabianski who just signed a pre-contract with Swansea; a defensive midfielder, and a forward who will support Giroud up front. Since the end of the season, the gunners have been linked with Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier who is a potential replacement for Sagna,Real Madrid's Under-21 forward Alvaro Morata, AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli and many other players across Europe's top five leagues. There have also been reports of a possible return of former captain Cesc Fabregas.
