Gabriel could move to Arsenal, Admits Marcelino

According to reports in Spain the gunners are ready to move in for the 24 year old center back with a £15m offer being suggested. But while his coach is unwilling to let him leave during the window he does admit a move could happen.

 The Gunners are known to be in the market for defensive reinforcement this January with Wenger often being criticized on a number of occasions on his failure to add defensive cover to his squad over the summer with Arsenal having to cope with injuries to key players in that department over the course of the season.

Wenger has confirmed he will be active on the defensive front and reports suggest Gabriel looks to be his target.

When Marcelino was asked about the truth regarding this rumor he did admit a move was possible: "I hadn't considered selling Gabriel, it's bad news from a sporting point of view. If both Gabriel and the club believe that his sale to Arsenal is the best for all parties,we will accept".

The player himself also hinted about a possible move to London: "Whether I go to Arsenal or stay at Villarreal,I wont lose my head.I'm very calm my head is at Villarreal and i'm very focused,my agent is working on making sure i continue to be calm".

The player has not missed a single league game for Villarreal this season with Villarreal sitting in sixth position in La Liga.
