"I'll go with my head held high, if Milan axe me" says Inzaghi
Filippo Inzaghi says he will leave San Siro if he is sacked by AC Milan, knowing he did his best.
During an interview with Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri boss said, "Will I be sacked? Don't ask me, I will go with my head held high."
"You can say that we played badly tonight but not that we lacked commitment.
"In training, these boys are working with the right spirit. We definitely have to play better, but we must look forward. "We're not the Milan we were expecting to see, but we will try to be in the next game."
Asked about his picks, by starting Pazzini rather than Destro, then replacing the centre-forward with defender Salvatore Bocchetti, he said; “I made that decision because Tachtsidis hit the bar and we were struggling in midfield, so I put Antonini into midfield. If we had won, people would've said it was an inspired move.
"When Pazzini doesn’t play you always ask me why. He had never started a game this season, he was doing well in training and I thought he’d suit this match on home turf. I have to make choices."
Inzaghi now has 35 points from 26 games, meanwhile his predecessor Clarence Seedorf took 19 games to match the same tally. AC Milan currently sit at 10th place in the league, and also 10 points away from Champions league qualification spot.
