Wolfsburg General Manager Klaus Allofs: Chelsea regret selling De Bruyne
Wolfsburg general manager Klaus Allofs believes Chelsea regret selling Kevin De Bruyne and feels the club could lose him if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The 23 years old has who has 11 goals and 14 assists to his name in 28 games this season, moved to Stamford Bridge from Genk in 2012. After a successful spell loan spell at Werder Bremen, he could not cement a regular first team football at under Jose Mourinho, which prompted him to sign for Wolfsburg in January 2014.
Allofs says that De Bruyne is still being watched by his former club. He stated, "At Chelsea they watch how Kevin has developed with appreciation; They've seen it confirmed, why they were reluctant to let him leave."
He addded, "Kevin will be leaving if we do not qualify for the Champions League come the end of this season or afterwards. All those other clubs are not blind to see"
"Anyway, they would definitely have to dig very deep into their pockets. That's why most of them are definitely without a chance to sign him."
