Official: Arsenal have signed Villarreal Defender Gabriel Paulista with Joel Campbell set to move the other way on loan

Arsenal have agreed a fee around the region of £13.4million with Villarreal to sign their centre back Gabriel Paulista.

The La Liga club announced via twitter that they have reached an agreement to with Arsenal for the sale of defender Gabriel Paulista, while Forward Joel Campbell will go the other on loan.

The official twitter account of Villarreal read: "Deal agreed with Arsenal for Gabriel, who will say goodbye today before the match. Good luck!"

They also confirmed Campbell acquisition, but there have been reports that no buy-out clause was included in the loan deal.

Campbell who has played 10 games for Arsenal this season is yet to score a competitive goal for the club, besides scoring in the Emirates Cup last year against Benfica. Meanwhile, Gabriel Paulista has appeared 28 times for Villarreal this season.
