Manchester United agree to sign Schweinsteiger
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger will join Manchester United.
However Manchester United announced on their website that an agreement have been reached to sign the German midfielder who is now subject to medical and personal terms.
Rummenigge told reporters at a press conference on Saturday: "My colleagues at Manchester United have been in touch.
"We've reached an agreement over a transfer. Bastian wants to do something new at the end of his career. He asked that we meet his wishes.

"We tried to convince him to stay with Bayern Munich. But I also understand that a player who has spent 17 years at Bayern Munich still wants to gain a new experience.""I regret that he wants to leave because Bastian is one of the best-performing players that we have. He has done great things with the club, I can only wish the best for him. The national team can only benefit from this, I'm convinced he'll play well at Old Trafford," he added.
The 30 year old midfielder who has a year left on his contract has made 536 appearances for Bayern since his debut in 2002. During this time he scored a total of 67 goals for the club.

Also, German newspaper Bild reported on Friday night that Schweinsteiger had agreed a three-year contract worth £7.2m-a-year with United, and will fly to England to complete the transfer processes.This will be United's third signing of the summer after a £25m transfer of Dutch winger Memphis Depay, and imminent purchase of Torino defender Matteo Darmian.
