Official: Sevilla signs Stoke City's Midfielder Steven Nzonzi for £7m

Sevilla have confirmed the signing of French Midfielder Steven Nzonzi from premier league side Stoke City.

The 26 year old is reported to have a buyout clause of £21.5m.

A statement from Stoke Official website read: "The club would like to place on record its thanks to Steven and offer him our best wishes."

Nzonzi has always expressed his desire to leave the potters in each of the last two summers, but has been repeatedly convinced to stay.

Talking about his transfer to Sevilla, Manager Mark Hughes said: "We worked really hard to persuade him his future lay here but it didn't seem to be enough for him."

After having a successful 2015 campaign, the midfielder was awarded Stoke City's player of the year.
Nzonzi represented France at under-21 level and has been called up into the Democratic Republic of the Congo national football team but has no game to his name yet. During his time with the Potters, he made 120 appearances and scored 7 times.
