Official: Crystal Palace signs PSG Midfielder Yohan Cabaye for £10m
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye has signed a three-year deal with Crystal palace for a club record fee.
The 29 year old is joining the club for a reported fee of £10m which is expected to rise to £13m with add-ons.
A statement from PSG official website read: "The international french midfielder is going back to Premier League after leaving it in June 2014 to join Paris Saint-Germain.
"With the Red and Blue jersey, Yohan Cabaye will have played 56 games and won two Ligue 1 titles, two Coupes de la Ligue and one Coupe de France. The Club wishes him the best for his new challenge with the londonian club."
Speaking to his new club, the French midfielder told the Club's website, saying: "I’m happy to be here. I’ve been waiting for the decision, had the medical and now I can’t wait to focus on my new team, a new season and my new life."
"I wanted to come and play for Palace because there are some really strong players here. They finished very well last season and I think they can compete to get into the top eight.
"I also know the gaffer and have worked with him before and I’m confident with him. I want to do my best for him because he’s made a big effort to get me to come here, as well as the Chairman, so I have to say a big thank you to both of them," he added.
The midfielder who forced a move from Newcastle last year scored 18 goals in 93 appearances for the English side. Cabaye will now be reunited with his ex-boss Alan Pardew, and will try to guide through the new premier league campaign which kicks off on August 8.
